CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— SHERIDAN — An 18-year-old male, of Sheridan, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Deputies were called at 3:58 a.m. Friday to South Roberts Road in the town of Sheridan for a suspicious vehicle stopped in the road. Upon arrival, deputies observed the operator slumped over in the driver’s seat. An investigation determined that the 18-year-old driver was intoxicated. He was processed and is scheduled to appear in Sheridan Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Ruben L. Medina, 18, no address listed, was charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Officers were called at 11:15 p.m. Friday to the north side of the city for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle complaint. An investigation found that Medina allegedly refused to return a vehicle nearly four hours after he was told to do so. Medina was taken into custody during a traffic stop and was held for arraignment in court.

— Benjamin J. Preston, 41, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. At around 7:35 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a disorderly person on the North Side of Jamestown. While investigating the incident, Preston threatened to beat up the victim and take an officer’s gun and shoot the victim. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody and transported to the city jail, where he was being held pending arraignment.

— Marissa L. Morris, 33, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree assault after a Friday night incident. Officers responded to an address on the south side of the city around 9:45 p.m. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Morris struck a male victim in the back of the head with a blunt object causing physical injury. The victim was treated at the scene then transported to the hospital for further treatment. Morris was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where she was held pending arraignment.

— Benjamin J. Preston, 41, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. Officers were dispatched at 7:35 p.m. Saturday to a report of a disorderly person on the north side of the city. While investigating the incident, Preston allegedly threatened to beat up the victim and take an officer’s gun and shoot the victim. Preston then resisted officers and, after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody. Preston was transported to jail and held for arraignment.

— Marissa L. Morris, 33, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree assault. Officers responded at 9:47 p.m. Saturday to a residence on the south side of the city for a reported domestic dispute. It was discovered that Morris allegedly struck a male in the back of the head with a blunt object causing physical injury. The victim was later transported to the hospital for treatment. Morris was transported to jail and held for arraignment.
