DUNKIRK POLICE DEPARTMENT

• A Dunkirk teenager faces four felony charges in connection with a series of burglaries under investigation by the city of Dunkirk Police Department.

Police said Wednesday several businesses had been burglarized between Oct. 28 and Nov. 6. The 16-year-old, whose name is withheld due to his age, was issued appearance tickets due to the New York State Raise the Age Laws. He is due to be arraigned in Chautauqua County Youth Part Court next week. His charges include third-degree burglary, petit larceny, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree possession of stolen property.

The investigation reached a successful conclusion thanks to the assistance of members of the community that provided video of the 16-year-old on their property, which led to the identification of the juvenile.

The Dunkirk Police department continues to encourage residents to call and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
