JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— A pair of north county individuals were charged after a Friday morning traffic stop.
At about 1:26 a.m. officers witnessed vehicle infractions at East Virginia Boulevard near Holbrook Street. During the investigation, officers were able to conduct a vehicle search after observing the passenger Jimi Jo Sobczak, 48, of Portland reaching around the cabin of the vehicle and picking up an unknown pill and ingesting it as officers approached the vehicle. Officers located a switchblade knife in the possession of Thomas E. Dalton, 45, of Portland.
After a further search of the vehicle and occupants, officers located a quantity of cocaine in the possession of Sobczak, who was attempting to conceal the narcotics and paraphernalia. Once Sobczak was placed into custody she attempted dispose of additional drugs in her custody. Dalton was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Sobczak was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both subjects were transported to city jail where they were held pending arraignment.
— Travis B. Estus, 26, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
At about 8:48 a.m. Friday, officers responded to an Eastside address for a report of a domestic incident. Upon arrival Officers were able to identify the suspect as Estus. Through an investigation it was found that Estus was at a residence prior to the verbal argument with the female party.
The residence belongs to a separate victim who has a valid stay away order of protection against Estus. He was placed into custody due to violating the order of protection. During a
search incident, officers located one Buphrenophine-Naloxone Sublingual Film 8mg/2mg on Estus. He was being held pending arraignment.
— Rudy L. Ryen, 47, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt after a domestic incident late Saturday. At 10 p.m., officers responded to northside address. Upon arrival officers located Ryen at the residence of a victim who had a full stay away order of protection against Ryen. Ryen was placed into custody with no additional charges or incident. Ryen was transported to Jamestown
City jail pending arraignment.
— Austin J Harkins, 22, of Jamestown, was charged with aggravated family offense, first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. At 6:29 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a west side address for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that Harkins did threaten a female victim, which resulted in a violation of an order of protection. Harkins was transported to Jamestown City Jail where he was held for court.
— Joshua M. Eddy, 36, was charged with petit larceny. At around 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a business on the south side of the city for a reported shoplifting. Officers located the suspect, Eddy, nearby. He was transported to the city jail, where he was held pending arraignment.
— Jennifer M. Allen, 38, was charged with petit larceny and third-degree burglary. At around 9 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a business in the center of Jamestown for the report of a shoplifting. Officers located the suspect, Allen, nearby. Through further investigation it was found that she had previously been banned from the business. She was transported to the city jail, where she was being held pending arraignment.
CATTARAUGUS
COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— A 57-year-old Ashford resident has been charged with striking another individual with his vehicle after an altercation.
Deputies say Michael A. Burdic of 5479 Twichell Road, struck another with his pickup truck causing serious injuries. The victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. Burdic was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment in the Thursday incident.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
— YORKSHIRE — Troopers charged James B. Simmons, 49, of Gowanda, with third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The arrest stems from a pursuit Sept. 5 on McKinstry Road. While taking Simmons into custody, Troopers discovered him to be in possession of methamphetamine. Simmons was released and will return to Yorkshire Town Court to answer charges.
