GOWANDA POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Christopher A. Musante, 58, of Gowanda, was charged with second-degree harassment and child endangerment. Patrol responded at 1:22 p.m. Aug. 11 to South Chapel Street for a reported disturbance and learned that an altercation occurred between Musante and a woman. The altercation reportedly escalated with Musante yelling at the woman in the presence of the woman’s five young children. He is scheduled to appear in court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Matthew W. Little, 26, no address listed, was charged with third-degree criminal trespass. Officers were dispatched at 5:18 a.m. Tuesday to 2229 Washington St. for a male who reportedly entered a condemned building. Little was located inside and he was eventually transported to jail without incident.
¯ James J. Shutter, 36, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers of the Jamestown Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit and K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop at 12:43 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Prendergast and Newton avenues. During the stop, officers determined that Shutter was allegedly in possession of a small quantity of cocaine. Officers also discovered that he had outstanding bench warrants issued through Jamestown City Court. Shutter was transported to jail and held for arraignment.
¯ Craig VanHook, 33, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Officers at 10 a.m. Tuesday observed VanHook walking on the north side of the city and knew him to have felony arrest warrants. VanHook attempted to run between two houses but was taken into custody. Officers found various packing materials associated with the sale of drugs, and VanHook was also found with a large amount of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cash. He was held for arraignment in court.
