JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Justin M. Rowe, 23, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and two counts of petit larceny. Officers responded at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday to Prendergast Avenue and Price Street for a reported suspicious person allegedly entering vehicles. Officers were able to identify Rowe as the suspicious male. Rowe was found to have allegedly broken into two separate vehicles in a driveway at a residence in the north end of the city during earlier morning hours and stole property from two separate victims. He was taken into custody and transported to jail. Later on, officers designated to the Jamestown City Jail observed Rowe attempt to conceal fentanyl inside his jail cell. Rowe then allegedly attempted to conceal a small piece of tinfoil containing the substance by hiding it inside his blanket. Upon investigation, the tinfoil was found to contain less than one gram of fentanyl. Rowe was scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ Markeel D. Hilson, 27, of Buffalo, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and two counts each of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and third-degree criminal possesion of a controlled substance. Officers were in the area of Sturges and Crossman streets at 1:12 a.m. Thursday when they observed a black GMC Terrain reported stolen out of Orchard Park. Hilson was identified as the driver, and during a search officers found 15.4 grams of cocaine and 14.9 grams of fentanyl. Hilson was being held for arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

¯ Tonya L. Earley, 45, of Jamestown, was charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers at 10 a.m. Wednesday checked a suspicious female behind 50 S. Main St. Earley was allegedly found in possession of drug paraphernalia and a quantity of hydrocodone pills. While in the jail, Earley was also found to be concealing a small quantity of methamphetamine along with a glassine envelope that contained LSD.

¯ Rashid A. Jabbar, 38, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment, third-degree criminal tampering and two counts of endangering the welfare of child. Patrol responded at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday to a south side address for a reported domestic dispute. An investigation found that Jabbar allegedly threw items belonging to another person out of the residence. Jabbar then allegedly picked up and removed the victim from the home by physical contact and in the presence of two minors. Officers later learned that there was an active warrant for Jabbar out of the city of Jamestown. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Chautauqua County police agencies pulled over 63 vehicles during a recent STOP-DWI Memorial Day High Visibility Engagement Campaign, writing 42 vehicle and traffic tickets and charging two people with driving while intoxicated. “Removing intoxicated drivers from Chautauqua County roadways is one of our top priorities,” said Chautauqua County Sheriff James B. Quattrone. “If you choose to drink, don’t drive. Impaired drivers not only put themselves in danger, they threaten everyone who shares the road with them.” The Chautauqua County STOP-DWI Program is funded by drinking and driving fines collected from convicted drunk drivers.
