Woman charged in Fredonia stabbing

A stabbing at the 100 Brigham Road apartment complex in the village of Fredonia has led to charges for a woman.

Fredonia police report they responded to a domestic incident around 8 p.m. Monday. When police arrived, they located a male subject with a stab wound to the chest and the left leg. Fredonia EMS arrived on scene, and treated the stabbing victim. The victim refused attempts for transport to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

An subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Tamika R. Thomas, no age or address listed, of second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Thomas was transported to Centralized Arraignment in Mayville where she was being held pending arraignment.

The stabbing was the third in the village within a month. The first stabbing, in which a 17-year-old was charged, injured a pair of Jamestown residents during the weekend that was labeled as Non-Fred Fest on May 5 and 6.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Ackykia Jester, 22, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers stopped a vehicle at 1:40 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Prather and Forest avenues. An investigation found that Jester, a passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. Jester is scheduled to appear in court later.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Kristie E. Dunham, 36, of Celoron, was charged with driving while intoxicated and no/inadequate tail lamps. Patrol observed a vehicle on West Fairmount Avenue traveling without tail lamps at 10:43 p.m. Sunday. An investigation found that Dunham, the driver, was allegedly intoxicated. She is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ Deana E. Jimerson. 48, of Jamestown, was taken into custody at 11:09 p.m. May 21 on a felony bench warrant out of Cattaraugus County Court. Jimerson was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail and held for further court proceedings.

¯ Jeffrey E. Zink, 42, of South Dayton, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant after the Sheriff’s Office was asked by Ellicott police for assistance. Zink was later turned over to the Ellicott Police Department.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ ELLERY — Michael S. Morrison, 40, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. Deputies responded at 8:57 p.m. Sunday to Dutch Hollow Road in the town of Ellery for a gunshot complaint. An investigation found that Morrison allegedly discharged multiple rounds from a firearm in close proximity to other individuals. He is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court later. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and Ellicott Police Department.

DUNKIRK FIRE

DEPARTMENT

A garage in the city of Dunkirk sustained heavy smoke and fire damage after an afternoon blaze on Memorial Day.

Dunkirk Fire Department was dispatched at 12:42 p.m. First crews on scene reported heavy smoke and fire coming from a two-story, three-bay garage behind the residence at 410 Robin St. Two 2-inch hoses, and one 1-inch hose, multiple ladders and hand tools were used to extinguish the fire and protect nearby structures.

The fire was contained to the building of origin and no damage was done to the nearby structure. Dunkirk Fire was assisted at the scene by East Dunkirk Fire Department, Dunkirk Police Department and Dunkirk Public Works.

No injuries were reported, and crews were on scene for approximately 90 minutes.
