City Man Facing Four Felony Charges Taken Into Custody
Robert A. Yates
A 33-year-old city man accused of throwing a lit Molotov cocktail at someone as well as stealing more than $1,000 in property is facing four felony charges.
Robert A. Yates was taken into custody Wednesday following a warrant check at a south side address. Officers were advised that Yates had fled prior to their arrival, but the city man was tracked with the assistance of a K-9 unit to the back porch of a residence.
The warrant was the result of two separate incidents that occurred Tuesday.
The first was from a burglary complaint in which Yates allegedly entered a business and stole property “worth in excess of $1,000,” Jamestown police said in a news release.
Later on, police claim Yates allegedly “threw a lit Molotov cocktail at a person and attempted to set them on fire.”
Yates was being held for arraignment in Jamestown City Court. He is facing charges of third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny from the burglary complaint and first-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree attempted assult for the second incident.
