JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Dakota M. Morse, 26, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Officers responded at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday to the west side of the city for a possible burglary. Upon arrival officers attempted to make contact at the residence but nobody came to the door. A neighbor was able to contact the tenant of the apartment and she responded to the scene along with the maintenance manager. Officers were let in through the common hallway that leads to the upstairs apartment. Officers made multiple verbal commands for whom ever was in the apartment to open the door. Officers on scene were given permission by then tenant and the maintenance manager to make entry into the apartment. Officers entered the apartment and located Morse in a back room. Morse was given numerous commands by police, which he failed to comply, but was eventually taken into custody.

¯ Michael Melendez-Bane, 43, of Jamestown, was charged with second- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded at 2:11 p.m. Tuesday to a reported domestic incident on the east side of the city in which a man reportedly brandished a weapon. Melendez-Bane was detained and found with a modified flare gun that was loaded with a 20-gauge shotgun shell. It was found that Melendez-Bane allegedly threatened to shoot another person in the presence of a juvenile. Melendez-Bane was transported to Jamestown City Jail.

¯ Amber J. Hitchcock, 29, no address listed, was charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded at 9:04 a.m. Wednesday to the west side of the city for a well-being check. An investigation found that Hitchcock allegedly threatened another person in the presence of her child. Hitchcock was transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident.
