Stolen Vehicle Found During School Zone Patrol
A school zone patrol led Jamestown police officers to a stolen vehicle on Monday.
According to a police report, officers were on patrol on Martin Road near Burtch Street at 8:25 a.m. Monday when an officer saw a vehicle that had pulled over and whose driver was speaking with a man who was walking. The officer checked the license plate and found the vehicle had been reported stolen from a Jamestown Community College parking lot in October.
The driver, Daniel McKay, 29, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. A passenger, Camille Lopez, 23, of Jamestown, allegedly gave police a false name and was charged with false personation and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Bart Bartlett, 38, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal property.
All three were taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they could be arraigned.
