WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Richard D. Young, 53, of Buffalo, was charged with petit larceny. Officers were called Dec. 15 to a shoplifting complaint that had occurred earlier at Crosbys in Westfield. Employees stated that Young, who they recognized, allegedly stole three cans of beer from the cooler. Young later turned himself in after being contacted. He is scheduled to appear in court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — On Oct. 26, deputies were dispatched to a reported fraud. Through investigation it was found that 35-year-old Anna L. Kelley did fraudulently make purchases using a credit card that did not belong to her. She was charged with petit larceny, third-degree identity theft, third-degree unlawful possession of personal identifying information. She will be in court later.

¯ ASHVILLE — No one was injured in a blaze late Sunday in the south county. At around 10:04 p.m. the Ashville Fire Department and several mutual aid fire departments responded to the report of a structure fire at 4926 Stoneledge Road. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct a cause and origin fire investigation. The investigation found the cause of the fire was due to an overloaded electrical power strip inside the residence. Departments from Lakewood, Chautauqua County EMS, Busti and Panama also assisted at the scene.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ Last week, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation stationed at the Boston barracks charged Gordon C. Robinson, 51, of Eden with possessing a sexual performance by a child, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon with large capacity feeding device, all felonies. The bureau, with the assistance from the Troop A Computer Crimes Unit, conducted an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation in the town of Eden. The investigation determined Robinson possessed child pornography and an AR-15 with high-capacity magazines. The mission of the Task Force is to identify individuals online who are attempting to lure children to meet for sex or those disseminating child sexual abuse material. Robinson was arraigned in the town of West Seneca Court and was released without bail and scheduled to return to the town of Eden Court later.
