WESTFIELD FIRE DEPARTMENT
WESTFIELD — A cabin was destroyed by a fire early Sunday morning.
The Westfield Fire Department, through its Facebook page, reported it responded to 5741 Parker Road around 4 a.m. for a report of a cabin on fire. Upon arrival crews found the cabin fully involved.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire. Also responding to the scene was the Westfield Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department.

CHERRY CREEK — Troopers out of Fredonia charged a Cherry Creek man after a domestic incident on Friday morning. Nicholas S. Mason, 26, is facing charges that include: resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and fourth-degree criminal mischief, as well as third-degree menacing, false personation and two counts of second-degree harassment.
Troopers responded to a 911 call about a physical domestic incident taking place around 10:45 a.m.. Troopers and Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene where they spoke with the female party who stated there was a verbal as well as physical altercation and that Mason was upstairs. Troopers quickly cleared the upstairs and located Mason underneath a blanket.
A highly irate and agitated Mason then began fighting with police, attempting to use his head and body to strike them. Mason was placed into custody and transported to Fredonia.
While at the barracks, Mason continued to be uncooperative, giving a false name and refusing to give any other personal information. He was later transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
