JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯James Godfrey, 44, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with first-degree criminal contempt, seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana. According to police, at about 5 p.m. officers responded to a residence on the city’s south side for a domestic dispute. An officer spoke with Godfrey and a woman. Upon further investigation, police learned that Godfrey allegedly violated a valid order of protection which ordered him to stay away from the woman. He was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City jail. He will be in city court later.

¯Laurie Godfrey, 49, of Lakewood, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 5 p.m. officers responded to a residence on the city’s south side for a domestic dispute. An officer spoke with Godfrey and a man. Upon further investigation, police learned that Godfrey allegedly violated a valid order of protection which ordered him to stay away from the man. Godfrey was taken into custody and transported to the city jail. She will be in city court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

¯ SILVER CREEK — At around 3:41 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to an address in the village for harassment. Through further investigation, it was discovered that Rebecca L. Schaff, 24 of Silver Creek, allegedly engaged in unwanted physical contact of another individual. Schaff is also alleged to have trespassed on the individual’s property. Schaff was later charged with second-degree harassment and trespass. Schaff was later released with tickets to appear at the Town of Hanover Court at a later date and time.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — At about 10 p.m. Oct. 5, deputies responded to Beech Hill Road in the town for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival patrols and EMS crews located the vehicle rolled over in the roadway. EMS assisted the driver out of the vehicle. The driver was identified as 30-year-old Jessica Cooper of Mayville. Upon an investigation it is alleged that Cooper was found to be driving while intoxicated. Cooper was charged with DWI and was issued traffic citations to be in town court at a later date. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by Chautauqua County EMS and Hartfield Fire Department.
