JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Christopher J. Light, 42, of Jamestown, was charged with aggravated criminal contempt, aggravated family offense and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Officers responded at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday to the south side of the city to investigate a possible order of protection violation. An investigation found that Light was allegedly in the residence of a woman who had an order of protection against him. Light reportedly refused to leave and attempted to barricade himself inside. Light was eventually taken into custody, and officers located the woman hiding in the basement. She was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Both were transported to Jamestown City Jail.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ ELLICOTT — Travis B. Estus, 25, of Falconer, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt. Deputies and Ellicott police responded at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday to Main Street in the town of Ellicott for a report of two people arguing on the sidewalk. An investigation found that Estus was allegedly in violation of an active order of protection. He was later transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ MAYVILLE — Benjamin J. Preston, 39, of Mayville, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies were called Wednesday to Mayville for a person causing a disturbance. Preston allegedly damaged property and was in violation of an active order of protection. He was transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ FORESTVILLE — Wesley R. Thomas, 52, of Forestville, was charged with second-degree harassment. Deputies responded Wednesday to Forestville for a reported altercation. It was learned that Thomas allegedly engaged in physical violence toward another person in a residence. Thomas was transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ CHERRY CREEK — Jeremy A. Jock, 31, of Cherry Creek, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Deputies responded to a disturbance at 11 p.m. Wednesday at a Cherry Creek home. Jock was found to have allegedly hit and pushed another person and damaged property during an altercation. Jock was transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ POMFRET — Dante N. Ardillo, 20, of Fredonia, was charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Deputies were alerted in May of a trail camera stolen from a wooded area behind a Route 20 residence in Pomfret. Ardillo was determined to have taken the camera and was later found in his possession. He is scheduled to appear in court later.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ BROCTON — Jonathan Eggleston, 33, of Stockton, was charged with second-degree identity theft and five counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Troopers responded to a Brocton residence June 23 for a reported larceny. An investigation found that while Eggleston was visiting a woman at her residence, he allegedly removed five debit cards from her purse and later attempted to withdraw $500 from a nearby ATM. Eggleston was found in possession of the stolen cards. He was processed and released with tickets to appear in Portland Town Court later.

¯ Blaydon Niles, 30, of Falconer, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers stopped Niles Monday on Harrison Street in Jamestown for a traffic violation. A check found that Niles’ license was revoked and was wanted by police in Dunkirk. He was also found with a container of fentanyl. He was issued a ticket to appear in Jamestown City Court and later turned over to the Dunkirk Police Department on the active warrant.
