CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ ELLERY — Adam C. Peterson, 21, of Mayville, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a BAC of 0.18% or higher, moving from lane unsafely and unregistered motor vehicle. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 9:26 p.m. Thursday on Route 430 in the town of Ellery. An investigation found that Peterson was allegedly driving while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court later.
¯ MAYVILLE — Matthew R. Kennedy, 30, of Angola, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Kennedy was being held at the Chautauqua County Jail on a burglary charge when he allegedly damaged and activated a fire sprinkler head within his jail cell. He was scheduled to appear for centralized arraignment on the new charge.
¯ SILVER CREEK — Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies charged a village resident late Wednesday after he was seen walking on Porter Street with a shotgun.
At about 11:30 p.m., deputies located the suspect on Monroe Street who was identified as 49-year-old Francis, W Kiley III. Further investigation found that Kiley was a convicted felon.
Deputies then determined the Kiley had possession of a shotgun prior to their arrival. Kiley was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and placed into custody.
He was transported to the Hanover Substation and released with an appearance ticket for Hanover Town Court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Katiria Cruz Torres, 35, no address listed, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no/insufficent stop lamps. Matthew E. Hall, 53, no address listed, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Joseph A. Snyder, 37, no address listed, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Officers stopped a vehicle at 1:22 p.m. May 21 on West Sixth and North Main streets. An investigation found that Cruz Torres had a suspended license and was wanted by the Sheriff’s Office. Snyder, a passenger in the vehicle, had a warrant from Jamestown. A search turned up heroin-fentanyl compound, cocaine and several controlled pills, as well as a switchblade and items used for packaging drugs.
