JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Ismael Cruz Santiago, 29, no address listed, was charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Officers responded at 4 p.m. Wednesday to the west side of the city, and an investigation found that Cruz Santiago allegedly held a woman against a wall while holding a pocket knife to her kneck. Cruz Santiago was transported to jail and held for arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Dawn M. Duvall, 52, of Busti, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Duvall was taken into custody Wednesday on a bench warrant from Busti Town Court for failure to appear. Duvall was allegedly found with a small amount of methamphetamine in her pants pocket. She was arraigned on the warrant and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ PANAMA — Gregory Hall, 29, of Panama, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Troopers responded May 12 to a Panama residence for a reported domestic disturbance. An investigation found that Hall was allegedly in possession of brass knuckles. He is scheduled to appear in Harmony Town Court later.

¯ CONEWANGO VALLEY — Michael Centi, 59, of Conewango Valley, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers were investigating a trespassing complaint May 11 in Conewango Valley in which three people were identified, two of whom were advised to stay off the property. Centi was found to be wanted on a charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief. A search also turned up 33 packets of Suboxone in his wallet for which he did not have a prescription. Centi was processed and transported to Chautauqua County Jail.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ HANOVER — An investigation into the fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on May 15 on Alleghany Road has led to charges for a South Dayton man.

Deputies say 75-year-old Arthur R. Zynda of South Dayton was traveling southbound in a 2021 Ford Ranger and failed to notice a blue New Holland farm tractor that was traveling southbound on the shoulder of the road and was being operated by 76-year-old Samuel E. Restivo of Jamestown. The pickup collided with the rear of the tractor.

Restivo was ejected from the tractor and sustained serious injuries, He was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk where he was later pronounced deceased. Arthur was issued a citation for unsafe passing.

SENTENCING

¯ Brandon Murphy, 27, of Jamestown, was convicted of third-degree burglary, a class D felony, on May 2, and was sentenced by County Court Judge David W. Foley to three and a half to seven years in state prison. This conviction is a result of a plea that Murphy took in March and from an incident that occurred in December 2021.
