CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ DUNKIRK — Malique J. Carter, 21, of Dunkirk, was taken into custody on a warrant for charges of second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and two counts of third-degree assault. An arrest warrant was served at 6:45 p.m. on Monday and Carter was located at his residence. The charges stem from an incident in which Carter allegedly injured another person during an altercation. He is scheduled to appear in Dunkirk Town Court at a later date.

¯ HANOVER — William E. Burgess, 26, of Irving, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation, fourth-degree criminal mischief, torturing and injuring of animals and second-degree harassment. Deputies and state troopers responded at 9:52 p.m. on Monday to Jackson Street in Hanover for an altercation. An investigation found that Burgess allegedly placed his hand on another person, causing an obstruction of breathing and blood circulation. Burgess was also found to have allegedly damaged property, shoved a person to the ground and harmed an animal. Burgess was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Jacob M. Snow, 35, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny and resisting arrest. Snow allegedly took and wore a sweater from Walmart on Monday and allegedly left all points of sale without paying. He was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT

¯ Alisha Klinger, 41, of Mayville, was arraigned Tuesday in front of Chautauqua County Court Judge David Foley on an eight-count indictment. Charges include second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Klinger is scheduled to appear in county court in May.
