LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Alicia A. Burgess, 30, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. Burgess was allegedly observed taking items from Walmart around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and concealing them on herself and in her purse. Burgess then went through self-check and did not pay for $223.87 worth of merchandise. She fled from the store when approached by asset protection personnel. Burgess was taken into custody and issued a ticket to appear in court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Richard C. Neal, 37, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Officers responded at 8 p.m. on Saturday to the north side of the city for a man reportedly threatening people with a knife. Neal was found carrying a knife walking in the area. He dropped the knife when asked. An investigation found that Neal allegedly threatened to stab another person. He was transported to jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Daniel S. Babyak, 49, no address listed, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday observed a latch broken off on a shed in a vacant lot in the area of Scott Street. A hand was then observed reaching under the door from the inside. Babyak was later found to have a warrant out of Erie County, Pa. He was also allegedly found with 2.2 grams of methamphetamine and fentanyl compound. Babyak was transported to jail and held for arraignment.

Joshua J. Hammer, 34, of Collins Center, N.Y., and Dakota P. Murphy Jr., 24, of Dunkirk, were each charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Hammer was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Murphy was additionally charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Officers stopped a black Pontiac G6 at 12:11 p.m. on Sunday on North Main Street for having an expired inspection. Officers located a loaded pistol and 30.2 grams of a methamphetamine and fentanyl compound concealed in a void under the center console. Officers also located scales and packaging in the vehicle. Hammer was allegedly found with additional methamphetamine and fentanyl compound and a quantity of suboxone. Murphy was reportedly found with brass knuckles. The pistol was later found to be stolen. The two were transported to jail and held for arraignment.
