JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Roberto Lopez Cruz, 43, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers conducted a street check of a man at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in the area of North Main and East Seventh streets. Cruz was allegedly found to be in possession of fentanyl. He was processed and released.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ BROCTON — Christopher T. McNett, 34, of Brocton, was charged with trespass, unregistered motor vehicle on highway, operating without insurance, failure to comply with a police officer, failure to keep right, failure to stop at a stop sign, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, third-degree grand larceny and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Deputies received a complaint at 5:48 p.m. on Wednesday of a person riding a side-by-side utility vehicle on a property where he didn’t have permission to be. McNett later fled during a traffic stop. The vehicle was located the next day and McNett was taken into custody after being found nearby. McNett was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ MAYVILLE — Tiffany M Carr, 29, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband. Carr, an inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail, was allegedly found with jail contraband. She was held for arraignment on the new charge.

¯ HANOVER — John M. Lombardo, 37, of Hanover, was charged with aggravated harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies and state troopers responded at 8:29 p.m. on Thursday to Hanover for a reported harassment. An investigation found that Lombardo allegedly threatened and took items from another person. Lombardo is scheduled to appear in court later.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Jamie E. Norene, 46, of Jamestown, was charged with confinement of a companion animal inside a motor vehicle during extreme cold temperature. Patrol at 10:11 p.m. on Thursday heard a dog barking inside a camper that was parked at a Teddy Avenue residence. The temperature was around 14 degrees at the time. The owner of the dog, camper or residence could be located by officers. Norene was located around 12:30 a.m. walking back from Jamestown and stated that he had not been gone that long. He was advised that it was 8 degrees outside and that the windows to the camper were frosted over. Norene was issued a ticket to appear in Busti Town Court. Animal control was notified as well as the town code enforcement office. Additional charges are pending.
