JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Douglas E. Puckett, 35, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Puckett was observed by officers around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday in the area of Cowden Place. Puckett was known to have an outstanding arrest warrant through Jamestown City Court. After being taken into custody Puckett was allegedly found with metal knuckles. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.
¯ Matthew D. Green, 51, of Jamestown, was charged with moving from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable and prudent, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI. Officers responded to a crash at 3:14 p.m. on Saturday on Pleasantview Drive. It was learned that a parked car was struck by a passing motorist. An investigation found that Green was allegedly intoxicated and that both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Green later provided a breath sample that showed his BAC was three times the legal limit. Green was processed and released.
¯ Joseph Chiarmonte, 51, no address listed, was taken into custody at 7:54 a.m. on Sunday. Chiarmonte, a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped, was wanted on a parole violation in Arkansas. Chiarmonte was transported to jail and held pending arraignment.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Samantha M. Armstrong, 37, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. Officers responded at 4:42 p.m. on Saturday to a reported shoplifting at Walmart. Armstrong allegedly didn’t scan several items during checkout valued at $353.40. She is scheduled to appear in court later.
¯ Scott R. Merritt, 41, of Celoron, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Officers responded at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday to East Fairmount Avenue for a reported domestic incident. It was alleged that Meritt allegedly held another person in a vehicle with a firearm and did not allow the victim to leave. Officers were able to make contact with Merritt, who was then taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail.
¯ Lyndsi S. Larson, 37, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded at 9:18 p.m. on Friday to Walmart for a reported larceny. Larson reportedly passed all points of sale with stolen merchandise and was later found to be in possession of methamphetamine. She is scheduled to appear in court later.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ FRENCH CREEK — Garrett D. Morgan, 36, of Ripley, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 9:24 p.m. on Sunday on Conway Road in the town of French Creek. An investigation found that Morgan was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in court later.
¯ WESTFIELD — A village resident has been charged after a search warrant was executed by area law enforcement.
At approximately 6:05 a.m. Monday, members of the Chautauqua County SWAT Team, Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, Jamestown Metro Task Force, Westfield Police, and members the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Road Patrol took part in the warrant at 154 N. Portage St, Apt. A. Upon completion, Lois B. Dros, 49, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Program.
Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call and report suspicious or narcotics related activity within their neighborhoods.
