CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

• PORTLAND — Eric P. Dietrick, 35, of Hamburg, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. Deputies responded at 8:52 p.m. Oct. 28 to Route 380 in the town of Portland to a vehicle that crashed into a telephone pole. An investigation found that Dietrick failed to negotiate a curve in the road and crashed. He was also allegedly found to be intoxicated. Dietrick is scheduled to appear in Portland Town Court later. New York state troopers and firefighters from Portland and Brocton also responded.

• MAYVILLE — William C. Soto, 39, of Jamestown, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Soto, an inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail, allegedly struck a kiosk machine causing damage to the screen. He was scheduled to be taken to centralized arraignment.
