CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF

— SHERIDAN –At about midnight Saturday, a deputy of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop for an observed infraction on state Route 39. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 38-year-old Karl Pinkowski of South Dayton.

Pinkowski was found to have been driving while intoxicated and subsequently charged. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Hanover substation where he was processed for the arrest. He was charged with DWI per se, DWI common law, and speed in excess of 5 5mph. He was later released and will answer to Sheridan Town Court.

— FRENCH CREEK — At about 8 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 426. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 34-year-old Adam J. Geraci from North East, Pa. Upon further investigation, Geraci was found to be DWI. Geraci was taken into custody and transported for processing.

Geraci was charged with felony aggravated DWI two counts, aggravated DWI per se, DWI, and failure to keep right. Geraci was transported to county jail for arraignment.

— HANOVER — An altercation in the town has led to charges for a Silver Creek resident.

At around 5:39 p.m. Friday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in Route 5 and 20. An investigation found that Joseph S Peatman, 64, did subject another person to unwanted physical contact during the altercation.

Peatman was charged with one count of second-degree harassment and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Program.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

— GERRY — Troopers out of Jamestown charged Dale Reynolds, 82, of Meadville, Pa., with driving while ability impaired by drugs after a motor-vehicle accident.

On Thursday, Troopers responded to Route 60 in Gerry. Investigation revealed that Reynolds flashed his high beams at a bicyclist in the opposite lane of travel, causing the cyclist to fall off his bicycle in the shoulder of the road. The cyclist was transported by Gerry EMS to a local hospital as a precaution. Reynolds exhibited multiple signs of drug impairment and was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests.

A blood sample was secured from Reynolds at UPMC Hospital in Jamestown. Reynolds was then transported to SP Jamestown where he was processed, issued tickets and released. Reynolds is scheduled to be in the town of Gerry Court later in the month.

— ASHVILLE — Troopers out of Jamestown charged Michael Lane, 37, of Ashville, with second-degree criminal contempt.

Troopers responded Wednesday to a residence for a report of a violation of an order of protection. An investigation revealed that Lane arrived at the victim’s residence several times, despite a valid stay-away order directing Lane to avoid all contact with the victim. Lane was located at a local motel by troopers and Ellicott Police and was taken into custody. Lane was processed at Jamestown and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
