CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ RIPLEY — Zachary A. Potter, 32, of Ripley, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree aggravated harassment. Deputies responded at midnight Thursday to Ripley for an altercation. An investigation found that Potter allegedly obstructed the breathing of another person and threatened harm to the same person. Potter was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ SHERMAN — Mackenzie R. Welder, 18, of Sherman, was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. Deputies responded at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday to the village of Sherman for a reported aggravated harassment. An individual had reportedly been receiving threatening messages from another person. That person was quickly located and identified as Welder. She was transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ SHERMAN — Bruce O. Boozel, 48, of Sherman, was charged with two counts of third-degree robbery, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree harassment. Deputies responded at 8:34 p.m. Wednesday to Park Street in Sherman for an altercation. It was found that Boozel allegedly engaged in an altercation with another person in the presence of children at the residence. He was also found to have forcibly taken property from two people during the altercation. Boozel was taken to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ RIPLEY — Ryan M. Dudek, 35, of Ripley, was charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies and Ripley firefighters were called at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday to South State Street for a reported altercation. An investigation found that Dudek allegedly broke items and tackled another person to the ground, causing injuries. Dudek was later located and transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Kendra M. Ormsby, no age listed, of Jamestown, was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. Officers were called at 2:15 a.m. Aug. 7 to a property damage accident in the parking lot across from a business on North Main Street. One of the vehicles involved left the scene and headed toward a gas station on North Main just over the city line. The driver of the other vehicle that left was identified as Ormsby, who was allegedly found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Ormsby admitted to backing into another vehicle and leaving the scene. She was processed and released with appearance tickets.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Brian M. Erickson, 38, no address listed, was charged with driving while intoxicated, speed in zone and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Police stopped a vehicle at 12:10 a.m. July 25 on Southwestern Drive for a violation. An investigation found that Erickson was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state and on a revoked license. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Ray R. Babyak, 18, no address listed, was charged with second-degree assault. Officers were called at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 3 to West Main Street in Falconer for a disorderly person. Upon arrival, it was found that a physical altercation had occurred, causing a laceration to one of the participants arms. It is alleged that Babyak used a kitchen knife during the altercation, which caused the laceration to the other party. He was transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ Mason J. Harmon, 19, no address listed, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Police responded at 10:26 p.m. Aug. 7 to the Holiday Inn for a disturbance. Harmon was found inside a room with a person who was a protected party in a stay away order of protection. Harmon is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Micky J Reagan, 67, no address listed, was charged with second-degree harassment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Officers were called at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 8 to Strunk Road for a physical domestic incident. It was found that Reagan had allegedly struck a woman in the chest while two children were present. He was transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ Luis A. Ruiz Jr., 34, no address listed, was charged with obstructing governmental administration and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Officers stopped a vehicle at 7:05 p.m. July 24 on Frederick Boulevard. Ruiz reportedly fled during the stop but was later taken into custody. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.
