JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ An 18-year-old and 17-year-old were each charged with second-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded at 7:55 p.m. Saturday to Blackstone Avenue for a criminal mischief complaint and spoke to a witness who observed on his surveillance camera three males stealing his ladder at a nearby location. The individuals were then located behind a building on Blackstone Avenue throwing rocks. The three were found to have caused about $3,100 worth of damage to the building. The 18-year-old was transported to the city jail. The 17-year-old was released on an appearance ticket to be in family court later. The other youth was not charged and was released to a parent. The ladder was returned to the victim, who did not wish to pursue charges.
¯ Ronnie R.L. Lambert, 50, of Jamestown, was charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded at 9 p.m. Aug. 4 to McKinley Avenue for a report of a vehicle dragging a woman down the street. It was learned that Lambert was dropping off a woman and threw her stuff out of a vehicle. Lambert then began driving away as the woman tried to retrieve the rest of her items. It was also learned that as Lambert began driving away there was a child in the road. Lambert was taken into custody a short time later at his residence.
¯ James T. Morris, no age or address listed, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. Officers responded at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to an apartment on the west side of the city for a reported domestic incident. A woman told officers that Morris allegedly struck her multiple times with his fist. It was learned that there was a valid order of protection for Morris to stay away from the victim. Morris was held for arraignment.
¯ Carl A. Moore, no age or address listed, was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and third-degree assault. Officers were called at 1:30 a.m. Sunday to a southside address for a 911 hangup call. A woman was found at the address with a large contusion on the back of her head. The victim, during a domestic incident, was reportedly picked up several times and slammed onto her head. Moore reportedly fled the scene while officers were responding. He was later taken into custody. The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Allen L. Cass, 29, of Jamestown, was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. Cass was in a vehicle that was stopped at 10:15 p.m. Friday on East Fairmount Avenue. Several new and used hypodermic needles (57 in total) were observed on the seat next to Cass. He was released on an appearance ticket.
