Warren Man Pleads To Child Porn Charge

WARREN, Pa. — A Warren man has pleaded guilty to possessing sexually explicit photos of a minor.

Austin P. Kelly, 26, 213 Oneida Ave., charged back in February in connection with a relationship he allegedly had with a 16-year-old female.

The investigation dates back to July when city police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at Soldiers & Sailors Park on July 20. Officers arrived on scene and found Kelly and the juvenile “on the steps of the park kissing,” per the affidavit of probable cause.

Police interviewed the two and were told that they “have been sharing pornographic pictures with each other over the phone.”

Search warrants were executed on the phones of Kelly and the juvenile. Police say they discovered “many text messages” between the two as well as photos of both the juvenile and Kelly “in various stages of undress” and “performing sexual acts.”

Kelly allegedly told police that he knew the juvenile was 16 and “they were not going to have sex until she was 18-years-old.”

He pled guilty to a charge of sexual abuse of children, a term which is interchangable with child pornography in the statute.

In exchange for the plea, charges of photograph, film, depict on computer sex act — a more serious offense — and corruption of minors were not prosecuted.

Starting at $3.50/week.
