Ripley woman, 78, charged in altercation

RIPLEY — At about 10 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to an address in the Town of Ripley for a altercation.

Upon arrival it was found Carolyn M. Torrance, 78, of Ripley did obstruct the breathing of another person, and threatened physical harm to this person.

Torrance was charged with Criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree aggravated harassment, second-degree harassment. Torrance was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

PORTLAND– At about 7 p.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies observed two individuals who were wanted out of the Sheriff’s office on Route 20.

The subjects were identified as Barbara A. Houser, 36, of Westfield and Todd A. Witt, 43, of Sinclairville. Investigation found Houser to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and Witt to be in possession of hypodermic instruments. Houser and Witt were taken into custody and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned on the warrants.

They are both scheduled to appear in the Town of Portland court at a later date to answer to the additional charges.

GERRY — A Sinclairville man is facing charges after allegedly creating a disturbance at a residence Thursday morning.

At about 3:39 p.m. Friday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Old Chautauqua Road for a report of a past tense altercation.

After an investigation, it was found that Jeffrey L. Holmberg II, 29, had harassed and damaged the property of another individual. Holmberg was taken into custody and charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Holmberg was brought to the Chautauqua County Jail pending CAP arraignment.
