STATE POLICE AT JAMESTOWN

KENNEDY — A Falconer man, whose vehicle ended up in a ditch, is facing a number of charges.

State Police at Jamestown charged Blaydon Niles, 29, with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while ability impaired by drugs and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Troopers responded to Hartson Road in Kennedy on Friday for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The driver and sole occupant, Niles, exhibited multiple signs of being impaired and was subsequently placed under arrest. Inside the truck a bottle containing Vicodin pills was located.

He was transported to Jamestown where he refused to be evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and to provide a blood sample. A check of Niles’ driving record revealed that his license was currently suspended.

Niles was then processed and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ Troopers in Jamestown charged Gary Peters, 51, of Lakewood, with driving while intoxicated on Saturday. Troopers and Lakewood Busti Police responded to McDonald’s on Fairmount Avenue in Jamestown for a report of an intoxicated driver. Peters was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests was transported to Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of 0.09. Peters was then processed, issued tickets and released. He is scheduled to be in town of Ellicott Court next month.

CARROLL POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Issac A. Wakefield, 20, of Randolph, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a BAC of 0.08% or more, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely and uninspected motor vehicle. Officers observed Wakefield’s vehicle moving from the lane unsafely and failing to keep right at 9:47 p.m. Saturday. Wakefield was later found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Carroll Town Court later.
