Discarded Cigarette Blamed In Celoron Fire

CELORON — A discarded cigarette is being blamed for a fire Saturday afternoon.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s fire investigation team responded to Ellicott Shore Apartments at 75 Marine Drive at the request of the Celoron Fire Department before 5 p.m. Following the investigation, the fire was determined to have originated on a second-floor porch due to a disregarded cigarette. No injuries were reported.

Other departments that responded included: Ashville, Jamestown, Chautauqua County Emergency Medical Services, Busti, Kiantone and Falconer.
