¯ ASHVILLE — Brian A. Carey, 64, of Erie, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se. Deputies were assisting with a Victim Impact Panel meeting Wednesday at the Ashville Boces. The Victim Impact Program was started in early 2000, and is a collaboration of Stop DWI, the Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, and probation. Defendant’s who were charged for any driving while intoxicated, or impaired by drugs are mandated by the courts to attend a Victim Impact Panel meeting. Part of meetings consist of defendant’s listening to panelists who have lost a loved one(s) to DWI. While registering, deputies determined the Carey allegedly drove to the meeting intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in North Harmony Court at a later date.

¯ HANOVER — Rose M. Dawson, 22, of Warren, Pa., was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies responded at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday to Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover for a reported altercation. An investigation into that altercation found that Dawson allegedly destroyed property. She was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ SHERMAN — Thomas A. Nellis, 60, of Sherman, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal trespass. Deputies received a report Monday of a person unlawfully inside a Main Street residence in Sherman. An investigation found that Nellis allegedly entered the home. Deputies additionally located a quantity of methamphetamine on Nellis during the incident. He is scheduled to appear in Sherman Town Court later.

¯ HANOVER — Gregory T. Chase II, 39, of Muskeegan, Michigan, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies observed a vehicle at 2:59 a.m. Tuesday traveling at a high rate of speed. Chase was later found in possession of a number of prescription amphetamines. He is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court later.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ BEMUS POINT — Jason Dillingham, 48, of Jamestown was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. Dillingham was stopped Monday on Interstate 86 in Bemus Point for a traffic violation and was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests. He was transported to police barracks and later provided a breath sample of 0.19%. Dillingham is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court later.

¯ A man who police say fired a gun early Thursday in Jamestown is facing several charges. Officers were alerted around 12:05 a.m. to reports of a person with a gun and a gunshot complaint in the area of 45 Franklin St. An investigation found that Bless M. Grant, no age or address listed, fired a single shot “in close proximity to multiple occupied dwellings,” JPD said in a news release. Grant was located a short time later with the gun, which was discovered to have been stolen from a burglary. Grant was transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident. He was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

¯ A Jamestown woman is facing a Leandra’s Law charge following a traffic stop earlier this week. Paulamari Cruz Rivera, 20, was stopped by New York state troopers Tuesday on Route 60 in the town of Ellicott for a reported traffic violation. She was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests. A child that was in the vehicle was turned over to another person, the state police said in a news release. Cruz Rivera was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for a blood draw, and was processed at police barracks where she was evaluated by a drug recognition expert and determined to be “under the influence of cannabis.” Cruz Rivera is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later on a charge of driving while ability impaired by drugs — Leandra’s Law.

¯ SHERMAN — A traffic stop earlier this week on Interstate 86 in the town of Sherman resulted in a host of charges for three people, including a Pennsylvania woman wanted out of Erie County. Troopers stopped a vehicle Monday for a seat belt violation. Troopers reported observing drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle “in plain view.” A search turned up “two bags of methamphetamine, two bags of cocaine, two scales, a pipe containing methamphetamine residue, a syringe containing methamphetamine, three pipes containing cocaine residue and Buprenorphine film,” the state police said in a news release. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 31-year-old Nicole Fox of Erie, Pa., provided troopers with a false name at first. She was eventually found to be wanted out of Erie County in Pennsylvania for driving under the influence and firearm not to be carried without a license. She was additionally charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and false personation. The driver, 27-year-old Erie resident McKennzie McIntosh, was charged with second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and he and 48-year-old Timothy Dominick, 48 of Lakewood, were each charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. McIntosh and Dominick are scheduled to appear in Sherman Town Court later. Fox was transported to Chautauqua County Jail and held pending extradition.
