CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ BEMUS POINT — Robert W. Strang, 49, of Westfield, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. Deputies on Jan. 8 received a report of an order of protection violation. An investigation found that Strang allegedly harassed another person while a stay away order of protection was in place. An arrest warrant was issued in Ellery Town Court, and Strang was later taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Christian L. Knisley, 34, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense. Officers were called at 12:30 p.m. Monday to a domestic dispute in the area of Sturges Street. Police were notified that the victim had allegedly been struck by Knisley, who had a valid order of protection and fled the scene. It was learned that Knisley allegedly placed his hand around the neck of another person in front of 3-year-old child. Knisley was tracked through multiple yards and eventually transported to Jamestown City Jail.

¯ Catherine R. Bindics, 18, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree loitering. Officers were called at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday to the Priscilla Apartments, 20 E. Fifth St., for a report of people using narcotics in the hallway. An investigation found that Bindics was not a resident of the apartments and was allegedly loitering in the hallway for the purpose of using controlled substances. She was released with a ticket to appear in Jamestown City Court later.
