CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ FRENCH CREEK — Emma E. Whitman, 22, of Corry, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a BAC of 0.08% or greater, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies stopped at 9:13 p.m. Saturday a vehicle for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign on King Road in the town of French Creek. Whitman was identified as the driver and was taken into custody. She is scheduled to appear in French Creek Town Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Samantha A. Ackler, 39, no address listed, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police stopped a vehicle at 11:58 p.m. Friday in the town of Ellicott. Ackler, a passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly found in possession of narcotics. She is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Steven D. Schrecengost, 27, no address listed, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers were called at 12:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of a person pounding on the door of a Falconer residence. An investigation found that Schrecengost was allegedly violating an order to stay away from the victim’s home. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Howard F. Nichols, 48, of Westfield, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers were called to a reported fight at 1:20 a.m. Monday at 10 Jefferson St. It was found that Nichols allegedly violated an order of protection. He is scheduled to appear in Westfield Town Court later.
