ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Shawn M. Garrett, 39, no address listed, was charged with petit larceny. Officers responded at 9:10 p.m. Thursday to a reported suspicious situation at a town of Ellicott business. An investigation found that Garrett allegedly removed property from the store. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Michael A. Berlin, 36, of Westfield, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies responded at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday to Route 430 in the town of Chautauqua for a reported vehicle in the ditch. Berlin reportedly failed a series of field sobriety tests and was later found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl. He is scheduled to appear in Chautauqua Town Court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Devonte J. Chandler, 29, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Donovan E. L. Paquette, 25, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force were in the area of Foote Avenue and East Second Street around 11:11 a.m. Thursday when they reportedly observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction. Chandler told officers he had just sold a quantity of drugs to another person. He was allegedly found with fentanyl, hydrocodone pills and over $4,300. Paquette was allegedly found with fentanyl. Both were transported to Jamestown City Jail to be processed.
