Wanted Woman Jailed After Dog Biting Incident

GERRY — A reported dog biting incident Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a woman wanted by police.

Volunteer firefighters were summoned to Wilson Street in the town of Gerry for a woman bitten by a dog. The woman, who was not identified by the New York State Police, suffered minor injuries and received treatment from the fire department.

Animal control was notified of the incident.

Troopers responded to the scene to assist, and during an investigation, discovered that the owner of the dog, 34-year-old Amanda Sendall, was wanted on a bench warrant issued through Ellicott Town Court for previously filed charges of false personation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance , muffler violation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Sendall was turned over to Ellicott police and later transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
