JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Joshua M. Verett, 23, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded at 4:20 p.m. Monday to a Broadhead Avenue home to assist a woman retrieve property from her residence. While on scene, officers learned that the woman was a protected person and that the male, who is court-ordered to stay away from the woman, was possibly inside the residence. Officers were assisted by the New York State Police with clearing the residence and located Verett allegedly hiding in an attic crawl space. He was taken into custody and held for arraignment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ IRVING — Jerome Laury, 38, of Buffalo, was charged with second-degree harassment. Deputies responded at 10:26 a.m. Tuesday to Main Road in Irving for a reported disturbance at a residence. An investigation found that Laury allegedly made unwanted physical contact with another person at the residence against their will, causing them to fear for their safety. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court later.

¯ BUSTI — Howard J. Tibbetts, 57, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a BAC of 0.08% or higher and failure to keep right. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 10:23 p.m. Monday for a traffic violation on Baker Street in the town of Busti. An investigation found that Tibbetts was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was released with tickets to appear in Busti Town Court later.
