BEMUS POINT — A Bemus Point man who police say pointed a shotgun at two National Grid employees has been charged.
New York State troopers along with Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded Friday to the Bemus Point area for a report of a disorderly person allegedly in possession of a firearm. An investigation found that 42-year-old Edmond Shults III had approached a National Grid truck that was parked on the road and reportedly “pointed a shotgun at the two employees that were seated inside,” the New York State Police said in a news release.
Shults was processed at state police barracks in Jamestown and released with tickets for two counts of second-degree menacing. He is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court later.
¯ FALCONER — Samara Wells, 38, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Wells was stopped Friday on Interstate 86 in Falconer for a traffic violation and was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests. Wells was transported to police barracks and later provided a breath sample of 0.09%. Wells is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.
¯ MAYVILLE — Paul Russo, 45, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Russo was stopped Saturday on Route 430 in Mayville and later taken into custody after initially identifying himself as another person. A check also showed that Russo’s license was suspended. He was processed and issued tickets to appear in Chautauqua Town Court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Patrick J. Dhondt, 45, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers observed Dhondt in the area of 525 Foote Ave. at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday. A check found that he had a warrant from the Ellicott Police Department. Dhondt was taken into custody without incident and allegedly found in possession of a quantity of fentanyl/methamphetamine. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and later released with an appearance ticket.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ BROCTON — Tyler T. Dalton, 21, of Brocton, was taken into custody after deputies conducted a warrant check at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday on a Smith Street residence in Brocton. Dalton had an active warrant for his arrest on a charge of third-degree criminal mischief. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Portland Town Court later.
¯ STOCKTON — Justin L. Horton, 35, of Stockton, was taken into custody on a warrant for charges of second-degree assault and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Deputies conducted a warrant check at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on Mill Street in Stockton. Horton was taken to Chautauqua County Jail and is scheduled to answer the charges later.
