CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF

PORTLAND — Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an address on Colt Road for a reported past tense altercation around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies spoke with the victim who reported that John S. Spaulding, 39, of Ellicott Road did allegedly place the victim in fear of injury with a knife. Deputies recovered a metal knuckle knife at the scene of the incident. On Saturday, deputies located the suspect. Spaulding was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of weapon and second-degree menacing. Spaulding was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

KENNEDY — Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence for an alleged altercation Saturday. After an investigation, it was determined that Terence E. Sweeney, 32, of Kennedy, had made threats leading him to be charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. Sweeney was taken into custody and brought to Mayville.

SILVER CREEK — At around 11:45 p.m. Friday, deputies conducted a traffic stop for an observed infraction in the village. After speaking with the male operator of the vehicle he was identified as Ryan A. Simmons, 32, of North Collins. Subsequent investigation on scene led to Simmons’s arrest for DWI. After processing Simmons was charged with aggravated DWI, DWI common law, and operating a motor vehicle with inadequate headlights. Simmons was later released is to be in the village of Silver Creek Court later.

CATTARUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ RANDOLPH– Deputies arrested Ryan J. See, 41, on a violation of felonary probation warrant issued out of the Cattaraugus County Court on Oct. 16 at 8:52 p.m. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office assisted, picking up See and turning him over to deputies. He was transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail where he was held awaiting arrraignment on the next business day of county court.

STATE POLICE AT JAMESTOWN

GERRY — Troopers from the Jamestown barracks charged Jason Brown, 44, of Falconer, with aggravated driving while intoxicated on Saturday. Troopers responded to County Route 380 in Gerry for a report of an erratically driving vehicle. The suspect vehicle and its driver, Brown, were located at Kimball Road and Route 60. Brown was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests and transported to Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of 0.22. Brown was then processed, issued tickets and released. Brown is scheduled to appear in the town of Gerry Court on a later date.

LEON — Troopers from the Jamestown barracks charged Russell Dash, 59, of Leon, with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Troopers and Cattaraugus County deputies responded to a residence in Leon for a report of a domestic disturbance Oct. 20. An investigation revealed that Dash threatened the victim’s life and then pointed a loaded shotgun at the victim. Dash was placed under arrest, transported to Jamestown and processed. Dash was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. Dash is to be in the town of Leon Court on a later date.
