Reward Offered In 2019 Cherry Creek Shooting

A reward of up to $2,500 from Crime Stoppers Western New York is being offered for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the persons responsible for the shooting of a family farmer in Cherry Creek on Oct. 1, 2019.

The New York State Police, in a news release Tuesday, urged citizens to come forward with information regarding the shooting incident. Those with information are asked to Crime Stoppers Buffalo at 867-6161

The incident occurred around 6 a.m. when troopers out of the state police at Fredonia responded to the Nobles Farm on Route 83 in the town of Cherry Creek for a possible shooting. Further investigation revealed the only victim and farm owner, Nelson Nobles, 53 of Cherry Creek, was shot multiple times.

Nobles was transported by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and NYSP Forensic Investigation Unit have been assisting with the investigation.
