CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ RIPLEY — Michael S. Smith, 24, of Ripley, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and failure to keep right. Deputies responded Saturday to a crash on Route 20 in the town of Ripley. It was determined that Smith reportedly left the road and struck a tree. Smith was later found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. He is scheduled to appear in Ripley Town Court.

¯ HARMONY — Adam W. Byler, 18, of Panama, was charged with overdriving/torturing an animal, four counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies at 1:11 a.m. on Sunday observed an Amish buggy driving recklessly on Goshen Road in the town of Harmony. Deputies observed the buggy go through a stop sign at the corner of Goshen Road and Rock Hill Road. The operator attempted to turn onto Rock Hill road at an excessive speed and rolled the buggy onto its side. Passengers in the buggy were ejected onto the roadway and the horse suffered injuries. Byler was later determined to be intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Harmony Town Court later. No serious injuries were reported.

¯ MAYVILLE — Shawn D. Patterson, 48, of Jamestown, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree harassment. Deputies were called Sunday to Mayville for a report of a fight at 9:53 p.m.. An investigation found that Patterson allegedly grabbed another person by the neck then fled the scene. Patterson was located a short time later and taken into custody. He was being held in Chautauqua County Jail pending centralized arraignment.

¯ CLYMER — Jamie L. Donnell, 41, of Clymer, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and no stopping/standing/parking on highway. Deputies received a vehicle complaint on Clymer Center Road at 11:08 p.m. on July 22. An investigation found that Donnell was operating the vehicle while allegedly intoxicated. He was released with tickets to appear in Clymer Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Rosa I. Lopez, 40, of Jamestown, was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and passing red light. Officers responded to East Second Street at Winsor Street at 7:23 p.m. on Friday for a injury accident. It was learned that a vehicle traveling south on Winsor Street passed a red light and struck another vehicle in the intersection traveling east on East Second Street. The vehicle involved was located unoccupied on Eagle Street. Lopez was found a short time later and transported to Jamestown City Jail.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Richard E. Brown, 41, no address listed, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers stopped a vehicle at 11:48 p.m. on Friday in Falconer for a traffic violation. An investigation found that Brown was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Andrew R. Johnson, 31, of Falconer, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded to a reported domestic incident at 1:15 a.m. on Monday in Falconer. It was reported that Johnson damaged property at the residence. Johnson was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.
