More Info Released After Mishap

More information has been released after a 14-year-old was struck by a vehicle Wednesday in the town of Ellicott.

In a news release, the Ellicott Police Department said the male teenager was riding a bicycle on Baker Street Extension when he was struck around 6:20 p.m. by an eastbound vehicle driven by an Ashville resident.

The teenager was transported by Celoron firefighters to Bergman Park then airlifted to an Erie, Pa., hospital. An update on his condition was not available Thursday. An investigation found that the driver did not see the teenager in the road.

Neither the driver and a passenger in the vehicle were injured.

No charges are pending.
