CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF”S DEPARTMENT

¯ Joseph J. Jones, 54, of Gowanda, was charged Wednesday at 9:15 p.m. with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI. Accordig to a report, deputies responded to a town of Poland residence for an altercaion. Upon arrival, deputies located Jones, and learned Jones allegedly had operated his vehicle in an intoxicated state to the residence. He was taken into custody and will be in Poland Town Court later.

¯ Brett Steffan, 37, of Bemus Point, was charged Thursday at 1:44 a.m. with third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree harassment, and unlawful imprisonment. Deputies responded to a Bemus Point residence for an alleged altercation. Upon arrival deputies spoke with people involved, and later took Steffan into custody and transported him to Chautauqua County Jail pending centralized arraignment.

¯ Justin M. Swartz, 40, no address given, was charged Friday at 12:56 a.m. with DWI, aggravated DWI per se having .18% or higher blood-alcohol level, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operater and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. According to deputies, Westfield Police Officers were dispatched at about 12:40 a.m. to a domestic incident in the village of Westfield. Upon arrival, officers learned that Swartz left area by a vehicle. Deputies then located and stopped the vehicle on Route 60 in the town of Ellicott. Upon further investigation, deputies learned that Swartz allegedly was intoxicated while operating the vehicle. He will be in Ellcott Town Court later.
