JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Robert L. Barr, 47, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, aggravated family offense and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Officers responded Tuesday at 11:55 p.m. to Newland Avenue for a reported physical domestic incident. It was discovered that Barr allegedly struck a woman several times in the face and choked her. The incident reportedly caused the woman to lose consciousness and suffer facial injuries. When attempting to take Barr into custody, he fought with officers. Barr was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Jonathan R. Carlson, 30, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree burglary and trespassing. Walmart Asset Protection called officers April 3 at 4:44 p.m. after recognizing Carlson, who was known to have been issued a trespassing warning for all Walmart properties. Carlson was located in the parking lot after exiting the store and was found to have taken items from the store, making the theft a burglary. He was released with tickets to appear in Busti Town Court later.
