City Man Charged After Assaulting An Officer
A Jamestown man faces charges after hitting a Jamestown police officer in the face with a bucket full of soap and water, among other things.
Jamestown police responded to a reported neighbor dispute at 6:53 p.m. Monday at the Woodlawn Apartments, 1267 E. Second St., Jamestown. Marc A. Cheney, 47, of Jamestown allegedly smashed a window with a bat. When officers tried to speak with Cheney, Cheney reportedly tried to push past officers in an attempt to get away. That began a struggle during which Cheney allegedly hit the officer in the face with the bucket of water, causing injury.
Cheney was taken to the Jamestown City Jail on charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration and second-degree assault on a police officer.
