JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Steven R. Hurd, 55, of Jamestown was charged with improper left turn onto two-way roadway , passing steady red signal, no/improper signal, uninspected motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated. Officers stopped a Toyota Camry Thursday at 11:40 p.m. near the intersection of East Sixth and Liberty streets for failing to stop at a steady red traffic light. An investigation found that Hurd was driving the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Hurd was transported to Jamestown City Jail where he refused a chemical breath test. He was released with tickets to appear in Jamestown City Court later.

¯ William E. Jackson Jr., 32, no address listed was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded Friday at 2:18 a.m. to a report of a suspicious situation in the area of Foote Avenue. It was reported that a male wearing a dark hoodie was attempting to light an object on fire in the streets. Officers observed a male matching that description in the area of Allen and Sherman streets. Jackson was found to have an outstanding warrant in the city of Dunkirk. He was also found with 13 glassine envelopes containing 2.6 grams of a fentanyl compound. Jackson was transported to Jamestown Jail and later released to Dunkirk police with appearance tickets.

¯ Amanda S. Sendall, 36, of Gerry was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to use turn signal. Officers stopped a vehicle Friday at 8:21 p.m. in the area of Allen Street and Foote Avenue for a traffic violation. An investigation found that Sendall was allegedly in possession of an ounce of methamphetamine, a large quantity of fentanyl and several buprenorphine HCL pills packaged for sale. She was taken to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ CHARLOTTE — Peter J. Kalfas, 60, of Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Deputies responded Feb. 29 at 7:29 p.m. to a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle was located on North Hill Road in the town of Charlotte after it had left the scene. An investigation found that Kalfas was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ HARMONY — Kristopher M. Black, 23, of Sherman was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, operating while registration suspended, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to dim head lamps. Deputies stopped a vehicle Friday at 1:30 a.m. for a traffic violation on South Street in the town of Harmony. An investigation found that Black was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was released with tickets to appear in Harmony Town Court later.

¯ ELLINGTON — Cody L. Clutter, 27, of Sinclairville was charged with second-degree harassment. Deputies responded to a trespass complaint Friday at 10 p.m. on Route 62 in the town of Ellington. An investigation found that Clutter had gone on the property without permission and then acted in a manner to cause alarm to that individual. He is scheduled to appear in Ellington Town Court later.
