Wanted City Woman Who Fell Through Ceiling Jailed

A woman attempting to hide from officers ended up falling into custody Thursday.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department responded around 3:30 p.m. to a Charles Street residence for a report of an order of protection violation. Upon arrival, officers learned 31-year-old Ashley L. Inserra of Jamestown was in the residence, violating the court order.

When learning police had arrived, Inserra reportedly climbed into the ceiling in an “attempt to elude officers,” Jamestown police said in a news release.

Inserra then fell through the ceiling and back into the apartment where she was promptly taken into custody without further incident. She was transported to Jamestown City Jail where she was held pending charges of second-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. The city woman was also wanted on numerous arrest and bench warrants, JPD said.
