A juvenile faces charges over fires at the former Hideaway Bay Restaurant in Silver Creek and Gernatt Asphalt Products in Hanover.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department announced Wednesday the juvenile faces charges of fourth-degree arson and third-degree criminal trespassing in the Hideaway Bay fire, and third-degree arson, third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree criminal mischief in the Gernatt Asphalt blaze.

The fire at the former restaurant, on Jan. 11, completely destroyed the building. The Gernatt Asphalt fire happened Jan. 14.

The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team, Chautauqua County EMS and the Dunkirk, Sheridan, Sunset Bay and Silver Creek fire departments all assisted the Sheriff’s Department in its investigation.
