JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Willie J. Wright, 51, of Jamestown was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and resisting arrest. Officers responded Monday at 7:36 p.m. to Grant Street for a report of a domestic incident. It was learned that Wright allegedly grabbed a woman by her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe. He then reportedly pulled away from officers multiple times as he was being taken into custody. Wright was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Mark G. Watson, 29, no address listed, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, trespassing and resisting arrest. Officers responded Sunday at 1:05 a.m. to a report of a male trying to enter a residence through a window in the town of Ellicott. It was learned that Watson attempted to enter through the window before leaving the area. Officers learned that Watson was not supposed to in or around the residence due to an order of protection. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment and issued tickets to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ RIPLEY — Kevin Presto, 48, of Ripley was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree attempted unlawful surveillance. Presto was taken into custody Tuesday for an incident that took place in May 2019. No further information was released by the Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ KENNEDY — Raymond Schmeltz, 44, of Kennedy was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol. Schmeltz was stopped Wednesday on Route 62 in Kennedy for a traffic violation. He was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests, and later provided a breath sample of 0.07%. Schmeltz is scheduled to appear in Poland Town Court later.
