CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ SILVER CREEK — Jay C. Janora, 23, of Silver Creek was charged with second-degree harassment and second-degree criminal contempt. Deputies were called Wednesday at 2 p.m. to Spears Road in the village of Silver Creek for a reported disturbance at a residence. An investigation found that Janora had allegedly struck another person at the residence. Janora was also found to have an active order of protection against the individual. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Christopher T. McNett, 31, of Brocton was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, false personation, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device and unregistered motor vehicle. Leroy W. Stepp Jr., 28, of Westfield was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana. Deputies stopped a vehicle Thursday at 4:46 a.m. for a traffic violation on Lakeview Avenue in the town of Chautauqua. McNett reportedly gave deputies a false name and date of birth. It was later learned that McNett’s license was revoked due to a past DWI conviction and was allegedly in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. Stepp was reportedly found with marijuana and methamphetamine. Both were released with appearance tickets.

¯ Bryan L. Butera, 57, of Jamestown was taken into custody Thursday on active warrants for third- and fourth-degree grand larceny, criminal possession of a forged instrument and third-degree criminal mischief. Butera was located in a parking lot of a business in Jamestown. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail, and is scheduled to answer the charges at a later dater.

¯ Omar V. Marrero, 34, of Jamestown was taken into custody Thursday following a warrant check on Crescent Street in Jamestown. Marrero had an active arrest warrant for a violation of Family Court Act. He was taken to Chautauqua County Jail.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Donald L. Hazelton Jr., 39, no address listed, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unregistered motor vehicle and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Officers stopped a vehicle Thursday at 12:59 a.m. on Fairmount Avenue for no registration. Hazelton was found to be driving on a revoked license and in possession of methamphetamine. He was issued a ticket to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.
