CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Charles E. Carter, 38, of Mayville was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely and uninspected motor vehicle. Deputies responded Sunday at 7 a.m. to Plank Road in the town of Chautauqua for a crash with injury. An investigation determined that Carter was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Chautauqua Town Court later. Additional charges are pending.
¯ PORTLAND — Michael K. Lawhead, 60, of Fredonia was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and speed not reasonable and prudent. Deputies responded Monday at 7:14 p.m. to Route 380 in the town of Portland for a vehicle rollover. Lawhead was later found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Portland Town Court later.
¯ DUNKIRK — William E. Webb, 45, of Dunkirk was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and City of Dunkirk Police Department conducted a monthslong investigation into the alleged distribution and sale of illegal narcotics in the city of Dunkirk. Webb was indicted by a grand jury and taken into custody Thursday where he was brought to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
