JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ William B. Jones, 53, of Jamestown was charged with aggravated criminal contempt, first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, strangulation, third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded Friday at 12:54 a.m. to UPMC Chautauqua for a reported domestic incident. Officers located a female who suffered injuries during an assault that took place at a residence in the 200 block of Prospect St. It was learned that Jones allegedly strangled the woman and attempted to strike her in the face, causing injuries. The incident took place in front of a 17-year-old. Jones was located in the area of West Fourth and North Main streets a short time later, and was reportedly found in possession of a controlled substance. Jones was taken into custody and held for arraignment.

¯ Felix J. Lozada, 29, of Jamestown was charged with resisting arrest and false personation. Officers were called Thursday at 4:40 p.m. to Pine Street for a male who had an active parole warrant. Lozada reportedly gave officers a false name and ran as he was being taken into custody. Lozada was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for the parole warrant.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Chad M. Whittington, no age or address listed, was charged with driving while intoxicated, felony DWI, failure to maintain lane, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and no/inadequate tail lamps. Officers stopped a vehicle Thursday at 8:51 p.m. in the town of Ellicott. It was found that Whittington was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated and that he had a previous conviction of DWI within the past 10 years. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later.
