NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ OLEAN — Adam M. Chandler, 31, of Randolph was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Chandler was stopped Thursday on Route 16 in the town of Olean. An investigation determined he was operating the vehicle in an impaired condition. An evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert further confirmed him to be impaired. Chandler was released with a ticket to appear in Olean Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Wayne A. Snyder Jr., 29, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing, first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense and obstructing governmental administration. Officers responded at 2:52 p.m. on Wednesday to Palmer Street for a report of a person who unlawfully entered the basement of a residence. Officers made contact with Snyder, who was found to have an order to stay away from the residence due to an order of protection. Snyder reportedly refused to come out of the basement where he was hiding and made numerous threats to harm himself. After an hour-long standoff, Snyder was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.
