CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ POLAND — Walter L. Ploss, 54, of Kennedy was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood flow and second-degree harassment. Deputies responded at 7:48 p.m. on Tuesday to a residence in Poland for a reported altercation. An investigation found that Ploss had allegedly choked another person and proceeded to push them to the ground. Ploss was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.

¯ MINA — Brandon Marotto, 22, of Panama was charged with driving while intoxicated, inadequate tail lamps and unregistered motor vehicle. Deputies observed a vehicle at 11:15 p.m. on Oct. 5 traveling without adequate tail lamps as well as having an expired registration. Marotto was taken into custody following an investigation. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Mina Town Court later.

¯ SHERIDAN — Brandon M. Lambe, 28, of Fredonia was charged with DWI, DWI per se and speed in zone. Deputies observed a vehicle speeding on Route 20 in the town of Sheridan. Lambe was identified as the driver, and was taken into custody following an investigation. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Sheridan Town Court later.

¯ POMFRET — Tyler Grisanti, 22, of Forestville was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, moving from lane unsafely and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Deputies responded at 9 p.m. on Sept. 27 to a crash on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret. Grisanti was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. He was charged following an investigation, and is scheduled to answer the charges in Pomfret Town Court later.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Catherine A. Tooley, 35, of Westfield was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using hypodermic instrument, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, uninspected motor vehicle and no/inadequate muffler. Leroy W. Stepp, 27, of Mayville was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using hypodermic instrument. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 2 a.m. on Sept. 22 for a traffic violation on West Lake Road in the town of Chautauqua. An investigation determined that Tooley and Stepp were both allegedly in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and hypodermic needles. Both were released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court later.

ELLERY — Sally M. Lawson, 62, of Bemus Point was charged with second-degree obstructing government administration and two counts of second-degree harassment. Deputies responded around 7 p.m. on Thursday to a report of a physical altercation. Lawson was found to have allegedly punched another individual several times in the face. While being questioned, Lawson reportedly threw hot coffee on the deputies. She was taken into custody.

POMFRET — Corey M. Newlon, 32, of Fredonia was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and speeding in a zone. At 7:16 p.m. on Thursday, deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret for an observed traffic violation. Newlon was reportedly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was released with tickets to appear in Pomfret Town Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

Blair Daniels, 30, and Amanda S. Goulding, 24, were each charged with seventh-degree criminal possesion of a controlled substance, unlawful possesion of marijuana and criminally possessing hypodermic instruments. Police responded Tuesday to a call from a Holiday Inn that two people were refusing to leave. Upon arrival, police reportedly found hypodermic needles and a suboxin strip. A further search of the room allegedly found two more hypodermic needles containing an unknown substance and a bag of marijuana. Daniels and Goulding were arraigned in Ellicott Town Court.
